Circumstances have forced me to part with my collection.  I am both a friend and fan of Terry Enfield, and this was an early addition to my Terry Enfield collection.  I absolutely love the whimsey Terry incorporated in her early designs.  It is particularly fun because we both like Asian influenced art.  I never asked about the inspiration for these early designs, perhaps it was created in celebration of the Year of the Rat.  It speaks to me of fantastical possibilities - Tolkien might have this pair of characters in one of his stories!
As is always the case in Terry's designs, the genius is in its simplicity.  I describe it as a classic because the design is still in production. The canvas has so much character, communicating a definite feeling from an uncluttered canvas.  The two characters can be quickly and easily stitched.  The open background is perfect for a delicate, open background stitch in a muted color - perhaps an overdyed floss would be perfect.  It would be lovely stitched and displayed in your home.
The canvas has been stored flat, the design is perfect - no discoloration or flaws of any kind.  While it is pre-owned, with the exception of tape discoloration, it is in no way "used."
