Description
This is one of the triumphs of fine engraving found on
"German State"
coinage. It is a very nice, silver,
"One Half Thaler"
that features a beautiful
"City View"
reverse. Undated, it was struck in 1740 for the
"Free Imperial City"
of Regensburg.
Regensburg was the location of the
"Reichstag"
or
"Imperial Diet"
. It was in constant session from 1663 until 1806 when Napoleon dissolved the
"Holy Roman Empire"
. The Emperor himself and all the Princes, Bishops and Archbishops would gather there to open the yearly sessions.

The Coin:
A beautiful, impressive coin in hand, and it has seen a very few of those. It shows some even, honest wear and it has its share of marks. It remains fully original and has never been cleaned, and as such it is much scarcer. One of the reasons people collect coins. As grading is subjective please see the pictures and judge for yourself.
