    Description

YOU ARE BIDDING ON 1662 SAXONY JOHANN GEORG II SILVER KLIPPE TALER NGC AU-DETAILS (OBVERSE TOOLED) KM500, 28.82 GRAMS
Dresden mint, Dav-7631. Struck to commemorate the marriage of Erdmuthe Sophie to Christian Ernst, featuring stunning imagery of laurel and chained columns to the obverse.
The obverse features matrimonial allegories---namely two doves atop garlanded pillars as well as a central altar with coats-of-arms; above, the rayed name of God in Hebrew sits atop crowning hands emerging from the heavens.
Though tooling is noted to the holder, this is admittedly insignificant and does not detract from the coin's superior aesthetic caliber, showing only faint friction to high points and likely saw extremely little use in circulation. A remarkable example through and through.
